My muse…

… is something that I do not understand, no matter how hard I try to.  I get all sorts of interesting ideas, plans, and stories… when I’m in the bathroom.  I don’t get it… who would think a blank white wall and some blue towels would be so… inspiring lol.

The idea that came to me today had to do with an old joke/plan that Aerro and I came up with. Leveling my BLU with her COR.  The funny part being that the Immortals (Blue Mages) are at war with the Corsairs.

I know what you’re thinking: “Doctor, how can you guys like each other? You’re at war!!!”

Bug eyes and furry tails!

Been housesitting this past weekend for the parentals while they visit family in Florida.  Housesitting not only lets us keep an eye on the house, but also take care of the animals: 2 Pugs and 1 kitten.  While they are some of the most entertaining animals I have ever seen… holy crap are they a lot of work, especially when you’re either suffering from gout or a broken toe lol. The Space Frog, Tuna Boat, and Socket Head were all a joy and we had a great time =)

Needless to say, didn’t have much of a chance for FFXI. Though before the weekend I did manage to hit SMN71. Was going to take a break from SMN when I hit 70 so I could get a few things before moving on, but a skill-up party was too tempting to work on my Summoning Magic. 1 hour and 0.7 skills later, SMN71 with a 153 exp buffer (XD)

Also recieving some attention lately is BLU, which sat at 47 for the longest time. I wanted to get a few spells before leveling more, namely Refueling, however I wasn’t having luck in Lufaise or Miserauex (once again, the French words give me trouble XD) so I asked the gang for help and we smashed some in vicinity of the Halvung Staging Point and on the 2nd cluster we have luck. Aslo managed to get Jettatura from hippogryphs in Grauberg. Spent some time on Pso’ja getting Filimented Hold and Cold Wave so I’m good to 54 with spells, other than the Tauri Freightful Roar.

So we’ll see, either finishing SMN or working on BLU some more. Should be fun!

We did better this time, having 2 SMN with Predator Claws really helped. Got it to about 30-35%. We’re gonna try again soon, and pray we win lol.

What made you pick the first job you leveled to 75? Was it for role-playing? Was it for the cool looking AF? Was it the lesser of 20 evils?

The first job I really leveled was PLD, it was my first 75. The reason is simple. FFIV.

Granted, the quality of the video is a bit poor, but it is the best sound that I could find. And it is from the DS version of the game.

And it cracks me up that they made Palom and Porom look like Tarutaru… teehee.

To melee zerg or ranged damage…

Well… the group I went with we don’t have any MNK’s or SAM’s leveled high (closest is Kie at 68ish).

No RNG or COR either… No BRDs…

How the heck were we going to do this…

We opted for 2x RDM/DRK (75), PLD/WAR (75), WHM/SCH (75) and 2x SMN/WHM (68 and 65).

Yes, we knew the SMNs were underleveled but… figured it was our best chance.

We didn’t wipe! We just ran out of time after getting it to 45% or so.

And I’m not upset about it. Learned a lot about the fight and maybe a revision of our strategy for when we try again on Sunday. One of those revisions is that Lili and I are going to try to get SMN70 before then to try Predator Claws instead of Eclipse Bite. Kie is going to push to get his SAM up so we may even try a SAM / DRG / THF melee burn… we’ll see come Sunday.

Hopefully it results in new armor for us!
